KBS Finance

An experienced CFO, working alongside your team.

I join your business as a part-time CFO and take responsibility for the numbers, the board reporting and conversations with lenders. I work alongside your finance team, giving them support and hands on technical help to automate the repetitive work.

What you get

Senior finance leadership, for the days a month your business needs it. I take ownership of the finance function, so you don't have to carry it yourself.

Numbers you can rely on

I sign off the monthly accounts, making sure they're right, on time and understood by the people who use them.

Monthly performance summary

A clear monthly performance pack, focussing on the key business drivers and their associated financial impact.

Cash control

A rolling 16 week cashflow forecast, so pressure shows up weeks ahead and there's time to act on it.

A finance voice in the big decisions

Someone to test plans, price the options and challenge the numbers before you commit.

Lenders and investors kept onside

I lead those conversations and explain the numbers, and the actions taken.

A stronger finance team

Your team gets a mentor, clear priorities and less time lost to manual work.

I take the responsibility. Your team gets the support.

Taking on the CFO role doesn't mean replacing the people you already have. It means they have someone senior to work with, every month.

Clear priorities

I set what matters each month and what can wait, so the team isn't pulled in every direction.

Review and coaching

I review their work, explain the why behind the numbers, and help them build the skills to take on more.

Someone to go to

When something doesn't add up, or a question comes from the board, they have a CFO to turn to.

Less time producing numbers, more time using them

Most finance teams lose days each month rebuilding the same spreadsheets. As part of the role, I set up simple tools that do that work for them, with no new system to buy.

Monthly board pack Half a day down from 5 days
Stock reconciliation Under an hour down from 3 days
Cash flow forecast 16 weeks ahead up from 4 weeks

How it starts

  1. An introductory call

A conversation about your business, where it's heading and what you need from finance to get there.

  2. A review of your finance function

I spend time with your team and your numbers, then set out what needs doing and in what order.

  3. Your part-time CFO

I take on the role for an agreed number of days a month, and adjust as the business changes.
